SUP Level – 1 PERFECT SUP CONDITIONS!

We will not be taking reservations for paddling today as it is too windy to safely SUP!  Please keep an eye on our Instagram, Facebook, and this website page to see how the rest of the week unfolds.  It looks as if it will be a windy week all together.

At Flatwater Fitness, our desire and our policy is that you have a great experience when paddling and do so safely.  When winds exceed 17 mph, we don’t put boards on the water, especially when they are coming from the south.  Difficulty paddling back to the launch point can become difficult when winds pick up to around 15 and beyond.  Several times a year we have called upon our friends at Santa Fe Lake to “rescue” people who have been swept to the north shore and were unable to paddle back in a safe and timely manner.

Our SUP Levels are as follows:

  • LEVEL 1 – Beginner Paddlers and Up

0-10 MPH

Wind speeds are great for beginners and up!

We call this PERFECT SUP CONDITIONS!

  • LEVEL 2 – Intermediate Paddlers and Up

10-16 MPH

Wind speeds will make for additional work on the water.

Beginners take caution!

Intermediate paddlers be ready for extra work.

  • LEVEL 3 – Expert Paddlers Only

17 MPH and Higher

These conditions can be dangerous!

Paddlers who are looking to train for a race or get a good workout in should consider this.

Only those who have lots of experience are allowed on the water.
